Google Doodle: 10th June

Have you seen today’s Google Doodle? If like me, you’re a bit of a nerd, a good Google Doodle is interesting and I look forward to what Google will do next.

Today Google is celebrating Maurice Sendak’s 85th birthday. Maurice Sendak wrote Where The Wild Things Are in 1963, and the book tells the story of Max, a mischievous little boy who runs away and discovers the Wild Things during the night.

The doodle takes you through some of the books most memorable scenes and characters from Sendak’s children’s books.

Today would have Sendak’s 85th birthday, and the search engine pays tribute to the writer, who dies in the 8th of May 2012.

Sendak famously replied to all the letters he received from his young fans. One recipient loves the hand drawn Wild Thing so much that he ate it – Sendak said it was ‘one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received’.
